El Vuelo

I'm Hereeeee! The ten hour flight wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be...it just made me super tired.

< Me in the Lavatory! So there is not a whole lot to do on a ten hour flight. We had individual tv screens in front of our seats, but the lady I was sitting next to was really aggressive with the arm rests, and the remote controls were on the top of the armrests, so with every shift of her weight, the screens were turned on or off, or something was selected. She was getting real frustrated because she couldn't figure out why her screen kept turning on...I don't think she ever figured it out. Hahaha None of the movies looked too appealing anyways.

I had a window seat but it was dark most of the time. The sunrise was nice tho. >>>
Everyone in the airport was wearing medical masks, which was concerning. They handed them out to all of the passengers on one of the other flights. Apparently there was a hand-held heat scanner thing they used on our heads right when we got off the plane to check for severe fevers...I thought it was a camera so I smiled real big when it was my turn. Whoops.

<<Shortly before landing...Buenos Aires! This is probably the biggest city I've ever stayed in...it's pretty sweet! I met my host mother this morning...we live on the 9th floor of some apartments. Another student, Marissa, is staying with Señora Zipper too. My host mother was born in Uruguay but has lived in Argentina her whole life...she has two sons, 45 and 42, and is no longer with her husband, but they are still on good terms. I met him and her eldest son today at lunch for her son's birthday.

This is an advertisement that was at the airport...take special notice to the tattoo. That is the symbol of the Flying Spaghetti Monster!!>> Kudos to Argentina! Maybe I should consider getting a tattoo like that.

Hopefully I will get used to the Argentine accent soon...It's quite different. I feel real bad for exchange students going to the US, who learn English then end up in Texas. All ya'll are fixin' to get a big surprise!

I pretty much slept all day, and am about to crash again. Orientation is tomorrow morning...I should find out more about the trip then. Woo!
